I got a guy thats going to cut me some new laminated side glass, vent windows, both front doors and both the back side windows for free, (a freind of my brother in law that owns a glass shop). thing is i have to bring him the old glass so he can get an exact cut, hes not local ,hes about 2 hours away so he cant come to the car. How do i get the glass out of the vent surround chrome and the door channels (54 ford customline 2dr). they are most likly original glass cause they are bubbled pretty bad, look really old. How would you go about doing this?

  2. One way to accomplish that is to use a non mettalic strip/wedge -and tap it in between the glass and frame on each end to loosen the set tape on glasses....a thin wedge cut strip of Nylon/Delrin or tough plastic of some sort will work fine....
I personally use a small screwdriver and gently pry it loose then pull it off, by hand ,the rest of the way.
a tiny crack will not hurt it as a pattern.
and....Dont bend the vent frames ......
