any idea how to tell if a vehical is barris im in the process of buying a vehical it has the barris badge but no do***intaion that it's a real barris can anyone help
barris will tell you himself he did it regardless if he actually didnt.On the other hand post a pic and ask rik hoving he will know

There is a hirohata clone locally that I know of that has a barris crest. I beileve you can buy them from him. No do***antation the only way to tell is to have him verify it himself. he may or may not do that it may depend on if it is one that he is particularly proud of or not.
Thing is you'd be looking for some of Sam's DNA, as George was mostly handling the clients. (did that sound right?)
Sounds about right to me. Another way to tell is if one side matches the other, George was known to say that it didn't matter of one side matched the toher because you couldn't see both sides at once.
the Barris bashing I'm sure will commence, but truthfully, I have contacted him a couple of times, and his daughter Joji and they have been very honest with me about how much if any he had done on the cars in question. Regardless I'm sure the haters will have plenty to say (without saying anything meaningful)
Hey I wasn't bashing I was just being honest he was known to say that. I will say this just because it came from the Barris shop doesn't automatically make it more valuable than anything else. There were some cars that they put together that are highly valued but not everything that glitters is gold. A lot of people say that the car was worked on by Barris Customs that doesn't mean that it got anything special or was built by Barris Customs, they did quicky jobs like nose and deck or pin stripe to keep the doors open just everyone else.
No been accused of bashing when all I was doing was telling the truth before. There was bad blood between George and the Ol' Man, but the Ol' Man liked Sam real well. I vaguely remember Sam, he bought me some pink pop corn once. None of that is my problem, the Ol' Man is off on an adventure with Mr Roth now so I suppose anything between him and George is over and done.
are you buying that Merc from Burt Zwibel (sp) yes I believe it is a true Barris car acording to George at Lead East!
Not to worry. I've dispatched George to PA to verify it for you. Running 40hp, he should be there in 2 or 3 weeks.
Nice looking car either way. If you like the car and like the price, put it in your garage and drive the stink out of it!
My thoughts exactly!! If the seller is advertising it as a Barris it's up to him to prove it. If he can't save sum $$$$$$$
