What is the take up so that I can get precise Bends on the 3/16 brake line

When I Marked 3/4 of an inch from the end, I bent it, the final bend was one and a half inches OD

Take a piece of tubing and experiment with it. Not being sarcastic....it's what I do when I haven't used mine for awhile. Helps me get the 'hang of it' when I want the bend in a certain place relative to another bend or the end fitting.

yup, that extra piece of line that you experiment with will be the best $5 you ever spent.

 

To expand on post #3. I have samples I keep with a permanent reference mark that will line up with the handle. These samples are 90, 60, 45, 30, 22 1/2, and 15 degrees. Just place the sample on line to be bent then mark it.
