I am doing a channelled 32 roadster. At 63 and 200lbs I opted for a body that has 2 inch longer doors and 2 inch longer cabin.I think that will make it easier.

  2. Huh? They have a pretty high seat to be saying that. Unless you have strangely tall shins I don't see why you legs would be bent much. I could see the clutch pedal, or non tilt 17" steering wheel crowding you, but they are a pretty comfortable truck. Any chance somebody put some low buckets in it or something?

  3. I'm kinda tight in my '31 Pontiac coupe but the one I want to tell you guys about is pretty hilarious.

I used to own a OT 1990 Mazda RX7 convertible that I bought new when I was 26 yo. I drove the car for about 15 years and had a lot of great memories in that car. I ended up selling it in poor shape to a friend who since restored it to it's former glory. While visiting earlier this year, he offerred to let me drive it again with my son. I sat down it it and all those memories of fun, the feel of the steering wheel, the manual shifter, everything came flooding back except for one thing. I don't remember the seat that narrow & tight on my butt!

my ( first build) 27 chevy is chopped 6" and channeled 4"
    i am 5.9 140 lbs.
and it is TIGHT in that cab.
i am having to put the gas pedal on the firewall above the tranny hump.
    14" steering wheel.
    thinnest/smallest seats i could find.
i dont think my fiance is going to be able to drive it. (big boobs)
in hindsight i would have made the rear of the cab longer.
    but on the good side.
at 49 years old i aint gonna grow any more.

when i started trying out seats i realized just how tiny that damn truck is.
    if i was any bigger.
    i'd have to sell it.
my next build will be built around a normal sized human.
    live and learn.

I'm 5'10" or so and 210 ... my OT truck in my sig below was a bit cramped as lots of older trucks tend to be. I popped for a shorter tilt column and a 13.5" wheel. It works pretty well now, but I wish I had the upholsterer reduce the foam thickness on the driver's seatback when the interior was done ... a couple of inches less foam would have made a lot of difference. There's alot of things that can be done to help make more room.
