Geesh, some people just don't know how to treat their hot rods with respect. That chassis and engine is filthy! ;)

A quick update on the roadster. I was lucky enough to be selected as an entrant in the first ever River City Reliability Run which really covered some ground. It started at Essendon Fields and made its way through Whitlesea, King Lake and out to The Basin.

The roadster had no trouble winding up the hills or keeping up with all the other cars. The speedo doesn't work but I'm sure everyone else was doing at least 60-65 MPH. Infact there was plenty left in the old gal. Before the Run I had never taken her out on the freeway, great shakedown and a ripper day that I'll never forget. Gorgeous day with the sun shining and 40 odd Rods making there way across Melbourne. A great event and a credit to Thommo and the guys from the River City Coupe and Roadster CC. My newphew Alex flew across from Adelaide for the Run and was riding shotgun. Couldn't be happier. Ryan Cockran and his buddy Blake came across from Austun TX for the Run which was a real buzz, great guys that live and breath the scene!

Glad to hear that it's working out for you. I ran a banger motor in my coupe for many years. Loved the sound. I could retard the spark a bit and count the engine revs by watching the fan blade. There is nothing like it. They need their share of TLC to keep things running but for me, that was part on the fun. The biggest kick was the startup routine and watching others become mesmerized when you flip the switch, grab the choke, retard the spark, advance the throttle, and hit the starter button and she'd pop off on the first rev.
