Just curious to see how all of us found out about the Jalopy Journal-HAMB? I will start since it is my thread: I was told about it from "lowsprings" and ever since then, my life has changed. This is the most visited website that I have ever come across. With the drama and B.S. involved, it had been very informative for me on problems that I have encountered, that being with cars! Next..................... KNUX! Jesse James......the "LURKER" on the HAMB!
i used to check out jalopy journal every now and then and saw a link with a strange looking name, got curious and lurked for a year or two, the rest is history!
Lowlife and I were talking one day and he said something about the HAMB and I said the what?? He said the HAMB, you know the Hokey ***ed Message Board. I didn't know then.....................but, I know now.
Google search on sandcasting aluminum-found the thread about casting the lucky star http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=11578&highlight=casting+star
I read a little 'blurp' about it in Rod & Custom. All it really said was that if you dig traditional rods and customs, check about the Jalopy Journal and the H.A.M.B. - so I did. I lurked for about a year till I took the plunge. Now that I'm a HAMBer, my arthritis has cleared up and the that pesky cough has gone away!!! It's a miracle - I'm cured!!! Praise the HAMB!!
I was bored playing on the comp , Add that with beer...Well you get it. Actuall I found it through one of Cole Fosters links.
Ya see. It is all sorts of avenues on how all of us got on here. If it wasn't for this site, ****, we would all be working on our cars with our spare time, wouldn't we!!!!!!!!!!!! Keep it roll'in 'cause I know that this is one big *** family here!!!!! KNUX!
Hell if I remember. I think I first hit it while I was searching for parts.... Then believe it or not, seeing the gang run at Indy Goodguys made me remember it "Haaaaay.... I know that site... those guys kicked ***" So now I'm back to stay. And you can all blame the HAMB racers at Indy
I was searching for H airy A ***ed M idget B abes but found the HAMB instead oh well now i ve been hooked for about 5 years mostly just reading
I also read a little blurb in R&C, It may have been when Ryans car was in readers rides or young guns or something I think. Checked it out a bit, but forgot about it. Then doing google searches for stuff, the HAMB kept coming up. Decided I'd better join up and do some learning. Now I'm a HAMB junkie and if I dont get my minimum of a few hrs a day on here, I start jones-diddily-onesin.
Many many moons ago.....I was introduced to it by a friend in Reno named Lee ( was on here as "junebug") He was helping Ryan get this "traditional hot rodding" board started..... I lurked for a few years then finally enough friends were on that gave me enough **** to just join, so here I is.....
Refered here from some Rodders on Moparts.com. Still not sure if it was a good decision yet....cutting into my drinkin' time!! Dave
i was googling the show on the TLC channel with the shifters build bad news. and post from the HAMB showed up. been here ever since. _T
I have a question? Why is it that our wives or gf cannot see that about having to be on a couple of hours a day? I know mine doesn't!!!!!!!!!
I was doing a search for the www.thehun.net .... and I ended up here. Took me two years to figure out bondo was a good sus***ute for ky-gel.
I think I did a search for "traditional hot rod" at some point. I know I found the Jalopy Journal first, and followed the HAMB link from there.
I am a member of the American Motors forum and someone suggested I check out the HAMB when I was building the hudson. I lurked for a while and decided to join up.
I used to lurk around the OSR board and used to see them *****ing about the HAMB. So I decided to see what all the fuss was about. Needless to say, I ditched that board and migrated here. Best thing I ever did. I have made some good friends here and will stay as long as everyone will have me.
I was in college around 1997 or 98 studying graphic design and web design. I decided to do a hot rod and customs website for a cl*** project. I started researching websites and found the Jalopy Journal. I actually shared the old homepage with the teacher of the cl***, (smoking girl) when we were learning about animated gifs. I read TTJ from time to time, until I thought the site was no longer around for some reason. A few years ago I stumbled across TTJ again, and found the HAMB.
the natural gravitation towards consumers of beer, conisuers of exotic and ****** women, hoodlums, and people who roll thier own. the HAMB is a natural stomping ground. Also it was the article on the HAMB chop in the "original" CKD...
