So its all lowsprings fault? For me? It was a rift in the space/time continuium. One day I was zipping along on my plutonium powered hover cycle minding my own business... there was a bright flash... and I ended up here. I like this reality better than the real reality. Really.
The Reverend Memphis J - Who, is actually a lurker and still is today. He told me about it a few years ago. After awhile I finally set up an account. Makes me wonder how many others are still lurkers only. I've spread the word and got a lotta people to check out the site. Good shit on here. Awesome people.
Funny ya asked. I am having the generator rebuilt and a new voltage regulator. I found that that was the headache that has been this past week. How about you? How is the truck? If ya ever change yer mind, you know I am always interested. Keep me in mind if ya do. KNUX!
i meet ryan at mcphail's wellinton shop the first day he opened it up and i had found the jalopy journal before that but had never click the hamb link until that nite so i lurked on here for about 2 1/2 years always checking out the art shows and all the cool cars that were being build then i figured out how to join the computer thing get the best of me most days and the rest is history still dont post much cause it takes me to damn long but yep i got to get at least an hour on introvince hamb time a day
I got linked to it back in '99 when Aaron had HR Deluxe online. The board was small and aggresive then so I didn't dare dip my tip until a year later... but after that first hit, I was hooked! This place has evolved into THE resource for all that is good (and bad!) in the combustion-driven world.
Glad to hear you fixed the problem. I love that thing!!! You will be my first phone call if I change my mind. I have been gathering parts so I'm getting close. I have to finish the customers 32 before I can start on mine though. I got another engine for it. A guy came into the paint store the other day and says he has several SBC's. I snagged one for the 37. You still need an engine? I bet I can get another one from the guy cheap!!
my son eberhama told me about it. I joined right away and then sat back for a year or so reading before i actually posted something. I still don't jump in much because someone usually has the correct answer posted before i get done reading the question. Some of you guys must have way too much time on your hands live long and prosper
That's the hardest part!...not finding vintage speed parts, rare mills, etc...that can be done with some persistance. I went out of town last weekend...first thing I was told "Your not bringing that laptop so you can get on the HAMB!" I found this place a couple years ago...heard about it from some friends. I was over on ChevyTalk, but that place is a little stuffy. I lurked here for a long time just trying to get the hang of things and learn something (and get a good laugh). The HAMB's funny now, but it was really good a few years ago and ever better before then (so I hear). Took a long time before I thought I was ready to post any help. Believe it or not, I still read WAY more than I post. I'm hooked on this place...without it I start scratching at my neck, twitchin', and seeing shit outta the corner of my eye! Bryan
I like everything pre 1941 with wheels (and a few others up to 1965), Hot Rods, stockers, race cars & bikes, and airplanes, stopped to look at a B 17 this morning. NoboD, tipped me off about the HAMB and some local kid named zach.........that is when my HAMB addiction started. Best collection of true car enthusiasts in the world are here, case in point is the Pebble Beach coverage NO SITE has better coverage than the HAMB! We all have a great ability to dream, some of us have that dream on the road, others have it underconstruction, without the HAMB you couldn't enjoy all these projects.
I was on another car related board and someone mentioned the HAMB. I checked it out and have been here ever since. I have to get at least an hour a day or I go into withdrawals!
I blame HRH. we were talking about his hudson and he mentioned a thread "on the H.A.M.B." and I was pretty sure he had taked some really good acid, until he explained the whole thing to me. BASTARD! SEE WHAT YOU HAVE DONE!!!
I think I heard it mentioned on the Fordbarn site. Kinda liked the smell of the place first off the bat. Lurked awhile then joined up. This is the most awsome site on the web. Somebody on here has an answer to most any question you want to ask. Kinda like a "Traditional Encyclopedia". BTW It still smells great like an old garage or a filling station.
I too first found it from the HR Deluxe site. My pals abomber30, randy D, and irritant were on here. I didn't joing for a couple of years though, because I am a moron and didn't have anything constructive to add, I also thought message boards were just for homos. So, I guess not much has changed. ha ha ha
I heard a comotion, came in and saw a bunch of members beating the shit out of a FNG, been here ever since.
I saw an article in R&C about Ryan's car. The discription made me laugh my a$$ off. Lurked for a LONG time then finally signed up. Happy I did....slim
I found the forum receintly through a search engine, as I was doing some research for a build I am working on... I am into all type of Hot Rods but have become very interested in traditional styled rods lately and this seem to be the place to go... I am an Artist by trade and also do custom airbrush work on the side, once I opened my first "Friday Art Show" thread I knew I had to join! HAMB has an amazing group or resident artist and I can't help but get inspired looking at all of their amazing work that is posted here!!! Dave Brisco
I used to hang out at the Rodders Round Table. Found the HAMB and was keeping a low profile here. Different world back then! After the turf war between the two I started slowly posting more.
Somebody must have told me about this place. Its been a wealth of good information. Lurked for a long time, just joined.
My baby (53burb) could not remeber his password to sign on at my place... and he could not get it from Ryan... So he had me make a name up so he could check the HAMB while he was at my place... Good thing he did cause if he has messenger off or is not answering the phone I can see where he is on the HAMB haha... xoxox PV
BECAUSE... You have to be on it ALL DAY LONG!!! No matter the time of day or what is going on... Even walked away from my bday party to check the HAMB... Can not go to bed without checking the HAMB... Wakes up takes a shit and CHECKS THE HAMB... Come home from work and CHECKS THE HAMB... Can not clean up the house or run errands cause ON THE HAMB... Have sex get up and CHECK HAMB... Has a bad dream at nite get up and CHECK THE HAMB... Seriously babe the HAMB is not going to go away if you do not check it all day long... I am not joking when I say in a 24 hour day he will be on it about 12 - 15 hours... But I love ya anyway... And the Hamb is great but I would like to see more than the back of your head ever so often... xoxox PV
Was at a show in Florida a few years back & got talking to Hotrod Walt, he's to blame..........actually thanks Walt! ;-) Kev.
JohnB from KY was at my place one day in 2000 and pulled up the HAMB on my computer. I read for awhile and said to him "those guys are all mean to each other". I was use to the warm fuzzys of the RRT. After lurking for a couple of years I was convinced by Germ that I could hold my own when the shit started flying and that the HAMB was truely my home on the internet and that I really belonged here. I posted my very thought out, long ass intro, was welcomed with open arms and everythings been hunky dory ever since.
