I found it through a search back in the late 90's; here and the old RRT. After the RRT was shut down (and before it was up again), I sorta just stayed here. I keep away from the drama (had enough of my own, 4 1/2 year divorce, now over as of last Monday), try to contribute useful shit, and garner knowledge. I still kinda miss the one version that had all the threads rolled down, so you could pick and choose. Ahh, for the old days of 75 meg machines and Beta Windows 95... Cosmo
a friend of a friend of a friend was talking about it. so i snooped around for a while and decided to finally jump in. nice place you got here.
I was searching Google for information I could use on my 29 RPU project and Google had a couple of threads from the HAMB. It was pretty good info so I checked out the JJ and the HAMB and was hooked. I signed up after just a few days of lurking. What convinced me was the great technical stuff from people like Elpolacko, AV8, C9 and the other smart guys. Since then I've been able to meet several of the local guys in person. Now I'm sure Elpolacko dreads it when I walk on the shop for my periodic fix of hot rodding. Great place. Thanks Ryan!!! Oh, and thanks for adding the Garage Journal.
Not to be nosey or anything but..... alot of us went thru the heartache with you regarding your son and the divorce. Please tell me you got custody.
I was talking to kustommetal at the shop and he mentioned it. He told me I should check it out, so i did and here i am.
I was surfing to see who was talking about O'Brien Truckers on the Net and came across the HAMB. Found out my friend Skip (DeSoto) was on here and stayed anyway ! Too addicted to leave now!! Dennis
Was a lurker on the sister site The Jockey Journal...Then I got a good deal on my '54 Ford and I needed to find out how to work on it. The rest is history! Thanks guys!
Was on the UK Ducati Monster Owners Forum, and used to post the odd Hot Rod picture on there, and some guy from Florida told me about a forum I should check out....Run by some guy who knows someone who lived near his brother...well, something roundabout that way anyhow.... Found it....lurked....learned....posted intro & its all been downhill since!! And the guy who introduced me has recently joined up too! Thanks Byron...
Another member told me about it from a Newsgroup on Usenet. Group was something to do with Hairy Ass Mother Bikers or Midget Babes...er.... I don't recall exactly. Stu
I was walkin' around Van's Auto Salvage about 2 years ago and some dude told me about the HAMB. I checked it out and havn't gotten much done on my car since.
went to a show, asked some old hot rodders some questions, they aswered them and then told me the best way to get questions answered was to go to the HAMB, i did and the rest is history.
