Greetings From the Great White North, up here in AK you have lots of time during the winter months to werk on yer stuff. Been into bikes mostly and found the HAMB through the Jockey Journal, Curently I have in the stable a sweet ***ed 71' Triumph Bonnevill, a Kustom Kafe 82' cb 750, and just recently aquierd my moms old 80'kz 550 that Im gonna go the cafe rout with. The Trump used to be my grandfathers and the cb used to be my dads. All three of the bikes used to ride together in the early 80's.
As far as cars go, Fords are what blow my dress up. I got turned on seein ******** roaches and rats in Ol skool rods. I think Car Culture Delux represents a nice cross section of hot rods and customs of diferent styles. The Rodders Journal allso gives me alot of insperation and history that allways comes in handy. I've recently purchased a neglected 66' Galaxie LTD w/ a 352 for 600 bucks, shes coming along nicely and I'll try to have some pics soon. 60's rides are cool and all but Im on the hunt for somethin older.
As far as hot rods go Id like to build somthin with a 50 or 60's style chopped, fenderless, flat black and mean, big and little tires with an old flathead. Id like to find a 32' coupe but who wouldnt. other logical choices would be a 27'T like the one Billy Lane had in osr a while back or this sick *** 36 p/u I found up in the mountains that has caddi steering and no chop. Ive been talkin to the old man who owns it and chances are good that Ill be able to pick it up for about 5g's If the son dont want it. In conversation with this old guy he told me of a 40' ford coupe just down from my house. He tells me someone had put Jeep rack and pinnion steering in it but they put it in upsidedown so you steer to the left and it goes right and viceversa, sounds like fun huh. Apparently he was gonna buy it at one time but nothin ever came of it. Its a lead to follow up on anyways.
other intrest include but are not limited to workin on my private pilots liscense, Hunting, skateboarding, playing guitar and b***, girls, dogs, leather, art, photography, family, snowboarding
Thanx for takin the time to hear me out and thanx for this rad website. And remember shine is fine, but flat is where its at:cool:
