Greetings folks! It looks like I'm a newbie here..don't ya just hate it?! Naw, doesn't matter, we're all newbies sooner or later. I'm Woody Blanchard and I've been playing with cars since WAY before I learned to drive; getting into Pop's toolbox, spreading his tools all about, making greasy/oily messes all over the shop/garage...not scoring any points that day!! During the following years I learned a great-many things about cars and how to survive and keep out of the old man's way after I'd thoroughly pissed him off! Dad was one of those rare individuals that was good at ALL he did; he was a craftsman in the true sense of the word as well which was something I sort of inherited and developed (but it sure took a lot of time). My Dad was an avid car freak in his own way and a great mechanic and he (in the simpler ways) taught me quite a bit about cars, being thorough and detailed, paying attention to all the details, life and even more important...cleaning up after oneself! Anyway, I'm more of a drag racer than old-time car-buff/rodder, although I managed to snag a pretty neat old '56 Plymouth Suburban 2 dr wagon a few years back. Fairly neat old car, pretty straight with minimal rust, lots of potential too! I developed a plan to build my first street rod. I'd remove the side glass, replace it with solid panels transforming it into a quazi-sedan delivery (something I don't believe they ever built), kinda Pro Street style with the 451 stroker and all, but alas...darn thing got too expensive and when reality set in...off it went! It's now safely residing somewhere in Florida. I still have plans and aspirations of someday building a (less than) docile street rod/toy, but until that day comes...I'll just dream about what it might someday be!?! Nonetheless, I'm glad to be here to help in any way I can and to learn all I can. A wise man once told me "you need to learn before you can teach"...hmm, he never told me how long that MIGHT take!?!?!?!
Welcome to the H.A.M.B Woody and with a last name like Blanchard seems like you should be from my part of the country..... ;o)
