Hello HAMB, My name is Trey and I'm new to the board, though I have been lurking for several months. I'm starting the restoration of my grandpa's 1941 Ford PU today with Classic Street in Taylor, TX. Joined the board so I can get some feedback on the decisions I'll be making throughout the process. Looking forward to the wisdom this forum will impart. Best, Trey
Welcome Trey! My name is also Trey and I am originally from Pflugerville. Just giving you a friendly howdy from College Station. Keep us up to date on the 41
Here's what she looked like yesterday, before the restoration began. Currently a non-posi Tri-5 rear with odd-ball long parallel leafs, 283/230 and 3spd manual supposedly out of my grandpa's '58 vette with approx 70k orig miles on the motor/trans. Both will be available for sale for a restorer. They ran when the truck was garage parked 20 years ago and will be run and compression tested prior to sale. Going with a 300HP 350 crate engine, likely an M20 4spd, and a properly leafed 8.8" or 9" Ford rearend. Looking for help deciding on suspension components which is the most pressing need - gets back from media blast this week. Chassis work starts next week!
looks like a great start. welcome to the HAMB. there are many threads related to the 40-41 pickup on here already. learn to use the search function and you will learn a lot.
