I've been reading posts on this site ever since I bought my 51 Styleline Deluxe last May. It's all original with 37,000 miles. I bought it with the thought of leaving it as is. The more I drive it and read these posts I've decided to swap out the 216 with a 235, split exhaust, dual single barrels and install a modern 10 bolt. It's been re-painted and who ever did it didn't prep the surface very well so I'll be re-painting to the original color which is Trophy Blue Poly which you can see in the engine bay. I'm thinking about doing the top in an ivory color. Thanks, Classic Iron
Welcome from SW Nebraska. Excellent Chevy!! A throwback to the "good old days". The 235 swap is worth doing. It'd be a shame to do anything but bolt-on period speed gear. Unique, unusual....all good!!
Put some speed parts on the motor and leave the car the way it is. It's perfect! Welcome from Apple Valley, Calif. VonWegener
