Guys and Gals of the HAMB, Howdy! My name is Steve, I live by Lake Palestine, South of Tyler, Texas. I am a graphic artist by day at a local sign shop and a photography enthusiast. However my true passion in life is hotrods, up to 1954 (no brand loyalty or preference.) This Saturday, I will be starting a new journey that I have dreamed about as long as I can remember. I am going to bring home my 1933 Chevy Master 2 Door Sedan, that's been garaged at the old family farm since before I was born. This is the oldest and in the roughest shape project I've ever taken on... Should be quite a ride in every sense of the word. Wish me luck.
Howdy, Steve! My daughter lived in Marshall, TX for years. I've visited East Texas three times I think. Very hot. Very nice people. There's a subgroup here Termites and Bowties. That's for people like us that have wood framed car bodies. I pray for you on that wood... Keep us up to date on your project. Don
She's loaded up... and the skunk that was living inside, decided it didn't want to go, so it got out. '33 Chevy 2 Door Sedan
So what are ur plans for powerplant drivetrain suspension? Are u usng a wood kit or framing the interior in square tubing? I ve got a 31 in the same shape,
i have lived in east texas.. woodville silsbee and a few more towns...im suprised its not rusted with all the humidity there ... but whatever ..you can do it and it will be fun
I plan on going mild, with the drive train as possible. The idea is daily driver, there's a story behind why, which I will share in another post. I got a couple of metal men who are helping me with the crashed roof. Will probably most likely go with tubing rather than wood. Brakes are on my mind wondering what to do with them, the mechanical system has gotta go.
welcome aboard! I frequent East Texas a lot (Henderson). looks like a pretty cool project. start a build thread so we can all follow it
Howdy to everybody who said howdy since I last logged in. Thanks for the PM's and pictures of your cars. You're all an inspiration to me. Lately I've blessed with family business that has slowed down my build but I been working the calculator and figuring this thing out and of course daydreaming the possibilities. In planning I have run into questions and so far found all the answers to them on previous posts here on HAMB. It's an amazing board. Thanks again.
