Just joined today. I'm a member of some other auto forums as I'm doing a complete body off re-build in my garage. I've got a '79 Jeep Cherokee widetrack that is getting fitted with an '06 5.3L/4L60E mated up to the Jeep NP208 transfer case. For you real hot rodders, that's what makes it 4WD. I haven't played with cars since my 1969 GTX with the 440, but I love them and have always wanted to do the body off. I call it a re-build because I hope I'm making it better than they did back in 79. I know all of it will be painted, not just the stuff you see in the showroom!! I'll tell you all now that I hate rust. I've used a product calle PM Master Series to "rust proof" the frame and parts underneath. Great stuff for rust inhibition, check it out if you worry about rust. You have some very interesting tech articles, and I hope to use this site more on my next re-build, because the next one will be to go fast!!!!
wont get a lot of help on a 79 or 69 here, but the principles and techniques will be transferrable to all
