  1. Hey folks,

I love coming here and perusing your posts, always full of wit and wisdom. I'm glad I finally joined. I have been designated the new owner/pilot of the wheelstander "Chevado", a 1955 Chevy Nomad with a rear mounted, Hilborn injected Olds 425 engine. This car was built in 1966/67, and is arguably the first purpose-built wheelstander "Car", (the Little Red Wagon is generally recognized as the first ever wheelstander, as far as I know) This car is entirely period correct, and as it was conceived about the same time I was, I am not exactly familiar with some of the parts. The car makes fire with a vintage Schiefer magneto, (donated by the crew of the Terrible Toronado) and I am having a heck of a time finding a correct condenser. The one in it is .040/600 volts, and I'll be damned if I can find one in that range. I can find 40 Mfd/480v, or 28Mfd/600v, and the parts houses only list them by application, not specs. If any of you gearheads could help me out with suggestions, I would be thankful. I am trying to get the car running by the middle of Sept.for the fall Vintage drags. It runs 60/40 alcohol/nitro, and as it has sat since 1988, It would be difficult at best to make it NHRA legal. Thanks fellas
