I grew up surrounded by gearheads, minus my immediate family. Dad got burned out about the time I was born, now he just wants to look, and no more building. I worked on old cars, trucks and tractors with my grandfather, my uncle, and my neighbors ever since I was a little kid. When I was 10, I went on a hunting trip, and fell in love. I decided that I wanted a early Bronco, and bought one when I finally got my first real job (10 years later). I've had it for years, and it's gone from daily driver status to weekend toy. I got a 68 for my wife as a anniversary present, it's hers to build up as she wants, at her pace (which is maddeningly slow, but I love her anyway) I'm looking for that 'find', the one that everyone dreams of. I want a 48-50 Chevy 7 window pickup, or a Dodge of the same vintage. I keep a close eye on cow pastures and barns as I drive the backroads on the weekends, what people want for them here in town, kind of goes against my dream of building one up like I've always wanted.
