Hello there, well I got scorned because I didn't do this "Sorry, really I am" so I'll get it over with. My name is Nick I moved to Utah about a year ago, actually I got stationed here "I'm in the Air force". I'm 28 yrs old I've been in the military for almost 9 years, for the first 3-4 years I was in the AF I was a vehicle body man. I love doing body work but I really hated working on cars nobody cared about and painting blue and green all the time gets really old. So I crosstrained into Aircraft structures and now I do depot Maint. here at Hill AFB in Ut. When I was stationed in South Carolina I worked for a hot rod interior shop and I really loved it. I learned a lot but I'd really like to learn a lot more, unfortunatly it doesn't seem like there are a whole lot of people here in Utah doing this sort of thing "at least from what I've seen so far". I've been painting cars since I was about 12, I don't claim to be an expert by any imagination but I do alright. I still need to learn a lot, I'm looking for a car to build atm. I can't decide really what I want to build, I looked at a 37 and a 38 chevy truck this past weekend but the guy was asking way too much money IMO so I didn't buy it. But I've also thought about building a 48-54 chevy sedan but we'll have to see. I've looked at some of your cars and I really like a lot of them, I would love to meet some people around my area and possibly learn some things and maybe even help out with what little I know. Anyway hope to meet some of you sometime sorry I didn't post this before, take it easy -Zipp

you weren't scorned. That was a gentle nudging. If you were scorned you wouldn't be here anymore.

Anyways, welcome aboard. If you can hit Speed Week at the Salt Flats, I bet you would meet some locals who are in to what you like. I know Loudpedal is from the SLC area... maybe he could steer you in the right direction. That boy defintley knows his*****.

    Welcome aboard Nick.
Yep, I second the B'ville Speed Week road trip. In fact I can't imagine a car person living in any surronding state NOT attending the event this weekend. Look for UT license plates on the hot rods and go up and introduce yourself to the folks. Besides Loudpedal and his posse, Lurker Mick and Don, AKA Old Farts& Old Fords from the SLC area will also be there. Lots more from the HAMB as well. You really need to be there this weekend.:D

Besides that, just read alot and when you notice someone from UT's post then just PM them and start a conversation.

I think there are more of us out here than people think.

LOUDPEDAL is just down the street from ya... The Throttlers are good guys.

    I live in SLC.

I just checked the J C Hackett website (a DJ @ the oldies station) and he has a show listed @ Hill AFB on the 13th... but B'ville is a must!

Check J C's site though to see where the little get togethers are each month.

I'll be there from late Friday through Monday. I'll be the guy in the big hat wearing shorts and a car-themed t-shirt... should be easy to spot... :)

Seriously... look for a HAMB/RRT meet and greet and introduce yourself!

Well I went to B-ville and got sunburned like a MF'ER. I think I saw a lot of peoples cars there but I didn't stop and talk to anyone because I was get fried "forgot the SPF 50 lol". So I checked out some of the rides and then went to Wendover and won 100 bucks on the*****s table :D . I didnt' really know where to look for the HAMB/RRT people but I was the guy riding around in the Blue 70 chevelle SS with white racing stripes. There were a lot of nice rides there, I just wish I could have stayed a little longer and checked them out.
