This year at the Round up I got to meet Gary and get poster and a T shirt. This morning I was going to the shop to work on my car and when I put on my T shirt it made me remember what a nice person he was and I was wondering how his shop had recovered from that tragic fire and not living in Austin we dont get much news in the piney woods.
I'll bump this back up, I used to see his brother every once in a while but since I moved I have not talked to him. Hopefully hes in a new garage with alot of work.
Thanks Joecool we were just talking about that fire saturday and how everyone helped out and how many good people are still out there and just wondering how he was doing.
Gary's doing as well as one can expect. It seems like he's at a point where he spends more thought cycles looking ahead than anquishing over what was. The new shop is comining along real good. It has a new cement floors as it was basically a dirt floor storage building. He's added a new paint booth. We are at the stage of wiring the booth. He's getting real close to being fully functional again. Thanks for asking....our bro is just about back on his feet.
I talked with Gary at Roundup, he thanked me for "what you guys have done", puzzled me, I have spoke with Gary several times thru the years, I contributed to the rebuild fund raiser, but he has no reason to know who I am, then I realized I was wearing my HAMB hat, he was referring to the HAMB!! Gary is truly one of the nicest people I have ever met.
