Cool car! Don't see many pictures of the '30s hotrods.

I looked at this thing about ten times before I noticed that the back of the bucket has been cut down, like Isky's roadster. Something I would never do to a T, but it looks pretty nice on this one.

Wicked machine. That must have looked like the Devil rolling down the street. Ol' ladies trembling, babies crying, and the dudes and dames just staring. I bet the whole town had something to say about that car.

The side skirts make the car LOOK LOW without being LOW, something modern ratters seem to be incapable of understanding.
The wheels are just plain old stock Ford wooden spoke wheels with demountable rims.
Ratrod?? I don't think so. The car is styled by a guy who understands style, it was done with the technology of the day, wasn't lowbuck 'cause fast always costs in relation to income.
A cl***ic example of a young man, about 28 then if he is 90 today, who loved cars and he wasn't alone. The country was full of them, too bad not so many photos and written interviews exist from these folks who pioneered hotrodding at the gr***roots level. His family probably thought he was excentric and throwing his money away. But...maybe not his girlfriend!?

My crazy old buddy Pete has been building low-buck rides his entire life. He'll have about $800 into this '30s style ride when it's done. It has a high-compression head, dual carbs, an exhaust cut-out, and a body made out s**** from a farm project. He cut down a tree for the lumber. He paid $5 for the hood at the swap meet.
Here he is doing a burnout in the shop at about 11pm last week after about 12 pbrs.

He should have it done in a week or two . He started with a big pile of rusty ****, not an actuall car, about 3 months ago and works on it at night after farming for 10 hours a day, six days a week.
