I'm still pretty confident that everyone has made way to big a deal about the changes to the tin. No offense but a bunch of the initial haters were wrong about some of their statements concerning the body. One of my favorites was insisting the cowls areas areas are not even close in dimension. I knew my mind was still good at visualization when I stuck the 32w 3w dash in there and it practically fit like a glove. Another is how the new 32 3w lower cowl patches match the lower front curve of the 34 doors so well.
Can't wait for my hood tops and rear panel to come back. I've arrogantly stated this before but... This thing is gonna be "Nationwide"
Oh... The *** end won't be as low as the PS. Ill get the stance way better than that.

    Wyatt,
You're kickin a** and taking names with this build!!!!! You're creating a body with style that never but should've existed…. That right there my friend is sheer talent and skill. Keep up the great work, Thanx for you help with the Waske Roadster, That really means a lot to me to be able to bring that one back to the roads again.

  6. Will your steering coloume fit in between those pedals? I had to bend mine out then back in at the tops. I'm sure you already mocked it up but if not I had trouble there so check yours out.

Stones vs. Beatles, blondes vs. brunettes, '32 vs.'34, apples vs. oranges I like all of them so why try to turn an apple into an orange? Have a look at some of the east coast rods from the late '50's early '60's some guy read a HotRod mag and decided all hot rods must have a '32 grille EVEN '34 coupes! yuck .... seems like a square peg in a round hole '32=square '34=round or another ****ogy: This reminds me of a Simpson's episode where Homer crossed tomatoes with tobacco and made "Tomacco"
    Edited:
Aw shoot runnin' shine i'm not sure exactly why its not there but my original post had a whole 'nother paragraph about how tomacco didn't taste great on the first bite but was highly addictive and how the reason to do it is the vision (it was better written the first time) I wouldn't be watching your post if I didn't like the idea in fact ... if I look at that pic and squint my mental eyes I can see it real good like a '32 3 window tudor....geez I posted a question about rust removal and had 10 people tell me to junk my car but i'm still here ....sorry brother must've hit the delete ****on and post at the same time??dunno but really i'm a supporter

All I'm going to say is... I , myself, personally think(whether I'm a copycat or have been brain washed) 1932 fords are the pinnacle. Yes 33-34s are cool, but a notch down again, TO ME. Then "I" like 30-31s after that 29s. But I also go back up to 35-39.
I see this build as a 32 3w style Tudor. These did not exist. I'm trying to build this like it was made by ford not hacked together and gaudy.
I don't record all my thoughts so I don't recall how this all began or evolved exactly, who cares. But somewhere along the way I have begun to believe this will be cooler looking than a real 32 Tudor, again TO ME, that's who's paying for it ,getting metal in his eye, inhaling hazardous fumes, using all my free time, putting off other important things, and ******* my wife off who wishes I would invest more time to philanthropy, higher education and enlightenment.
No one has offered me a dirt cheap 1932 anything, ever.
I am so sick of the 32 is square and the 33-34 is round? There are curves all over a 32 and round is an inaccurate way to describe the body of a model 40.
Since this re****al will probably get my thread pulled or me banned from the HAMB, let ME just say that I think this is one of the baddest builds going on here. I have never posted on someone's thread that something they are building is ugly. A real Gentleman doesn't call someone or the actions stupid in front of the whole world. Especially if either is just ones opinion. So if I'm out so long fellas, maybe you'll see me Rollin by in that cool monstrosity that everybody hates, maybe I'll paint it pearl orange.
I may not have thick skin but I'm tired of people who won't grow up and quit trying to stifle MY vision[emoji4].

    Wyatt,
Been following since you started. I don't think it it looks bland and boring, I'd say sleek and slightly sinister. I am also going to modify my 32 woodie to get rid of the "boxy look" in the front. From a fellow ADDer, you da man!
After reading your rant, I have to say that 32 and earlier woodies were actually square.(just woodies)

  11. Wyatt,

Don't stress on the haters. Just think back to the first dude that built a belly tank. Greatest idea ever but I bet many guys were talking smack. I see it this way, they are just sad they didn't think it first or maybe they did but they are just lazy *** and don't even have a car or tools to even build one. I love it when kooks come up to me and ask me hey man why did you do that or why would you chop it that low ect ect. And it's the same answer every time. Because it my fu$$ing car. How much you pay for your street rod because I built this car with my hands. And now I'm going to start ending my quote with beat it you pocket rodder.:D I'm here for ya and I can't wait to see the finished car in full burn out mode. I see it as an early kustom hotrod. Late 30s is when guys started thinking to make their cars kustoms and look back at all the dry lake pictures and you will see every car out there was touched and changed to the owners liking. Keep in keepin on.

  13. Hey Wyatt I do believe the English versions of 32 Tudors were suicide door 32 Tudors. I think only the us ones were not. So Henry did think of it. Your thinking right up there with Henry. Maybe ask some of the guys that live over the pond What ever that means.. For some pictures... Or even correct me if I'm wrong. Shoot the moon......

That would be too bad because for some reason half of my post didn't upload and in fact was some sort of diatribe of support. That first part did end up coming across entirely the wrong way without the other paragraph that didn't post. I've amended the post and am hopping away foot planted firmly in mouth....

    Thanks NailHead for the amendment.
I wasn't directly spouting off at you personally. I could of let it roll off as you didn't say anything really harsh. I just took it as a tipping point post that I barked back a little on.
I just want us all to have each other's backs with support, wisdom, and "constructive" criticism.

I am not a 32 guy I like 34's better buy I like this type of build for several reasons that should be obvious.

It is a home built car.
It is defiantly not cookie cutter(as some build on here are becoming)
It is built from cast off parts and hand made stuff
And it fits the era to a T. Some people need to read more old mags and less internet expert dribble. Old hot rods didn't all look the same. Dare to make it your own.

Just keep on building what you want. Everyone has different tastes. I personally wouldn't mate a 32 and a 34 like you have, but that hasn't stopped me from being one of your supporters and following along. I like seeing guys make something out of junk (unless it turns into a rat rod). And since this isn't going to be spiderwebbed skulled iron crossed rat rod, it will be a cool use of second hand parts.

Ain't nobody going to derail this "Kandy Kolored Tangerine Streamilned Baby!" This ****er is headed down the right track and fast building momentum with every rotation of those wheels!!!!
RS, you're this locomotives engineer and the rails are all yours, when you get to where you want to go and people are able to see it, then they'll finally get it, ;).

    I think it's lame!
Part of its triangle shaped and the other half is sausage shaped!
    No one will like you!
Where do you lean the cry baby doll?

Ok Mark here is the start of my self proclaimed world famous stainless bumper/chin guard/headlight bar(it really won't support the headlight mounts but it is part of their ***embly).

It will be cut and fitted to move in closer
    ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1468006647.079277.jpg
This is inspired by the track nose guards and old football helmets from back in the day. It won't have a second upward bar to keep it clean and more stockish. The V8 emblem being mounted to it in front of the crank hole will be representative of the stock emblem placement and track numbers or drivers initials that were welded to old guards.
I wanted to stray away from the use of a normal sad frown face crossbar that to me interferes with the view of the grill. Although I like them in some ways and you have to have the iconic inaugural emblem. With me going to the trouble to build a winterfront clone it is even more so important to not obstruct this view.
I would have loved to knocked this out already but I don't have a blue tip wrench. I have been thinking about doing it blacksmith style in a fire pit or grill, lol. Today I just decided to give map gas a try. It is slow and difficult but I think I can make it work. I'm going to take my time on this and get it right. I hope it will inspire me to finish the grill also.
Dennis... I haven't forgot about your crank hole bezel I'm just doing the best I can with little free time.

That's clever, and being able to see the ridge on the area the bolt p***es threw from most angles really flatters it. Well, to me anyways.

    Looks good man.

Bruce I've been trying to get around to showing you how far off the pedals still are.
    ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1468008729.672384.jpg
They're close now but need a little more. I'll get on top of this when I play with the column tube and shift linkage with the mockup block and trans in.
I was going to work on the firewall today but got sidetracked on the bumper/chin guard dealio.

Thanks Tim! I like it too and new I would leave'm there going way back. There's times when I want to totally embrace tradition and showcase these original Henry parts Tardel/Bishop book style and then there is times where I want to push originality and also there is other peoples influence too you have to juggle.
It is hard to stop yourself from taking a grinder to everything and polishing it out to be more refined. I have to keep myself in check all the time to get that gonna fool'm all authentic 40s vibe.
Building the car from scratch is and extra effort too. I buy as much old stuff as I can to use for its aged look and for a guide when the car is close to done and I have to start blending it all together. If you notice in the previous post pics, the original radiator look good and weathered but the frame if I left it alone doesn't match up at all. Plus all these other pieces I'm making or the head light/shock mounts for example. They will have to be painted then they'll look out of place. I'll fix all of this in the end but it's extra work and time. I personally have no desire to own a brand new 32 ford. I want the whole "time machine" vibe but my brain won't let me wrap my head around it if it's all fresh and shiny, which is wrong cause it would have looked real nice still in 46 to 9. I have this weird problem where sometimes I can't shake the idea that real life wasn't in "Black n White" in the old days. I also always see in my head the depression era as brownish amber nicotine stained. My wife always reminds the pictures didn't look that way when new, they get dis colored with time from not being well cared for or of a good archival quality.
I don't think that the car will have a fake "patina" thing going on but I will be distressing most of it. I may just drive it a lot down dirt and gravel roads and only lightly hose it off.
End of voyage through my minds eye, Wyatt[emoji6]

That chin bar is going to be neat. Are you going to chrome the whole thing so the shock & light mounts shine too? Or paint them and polish the chin bar?

The latter, just polish the bar and paint the other doo dads black.
I'll just mask the bar off somewhere in front of the mount similar to a stock head light bar. Make sense?

    Hell yes Mark!
I know it will all be soft and muted, as I'm no stranger to the arts, just not a pimple on your eraser. If going with color... Again my headlights are weathered old black

And please let it show that it's a Pines Winter front grill even if faint. Backing plates and all suspension parts up front are chrome. I really appreciate all your time and trouble. Wyatt
