When my Grandpa p***ed away several years ago I found these hubcaps in his garage. My thoughts they're off one of my dad's cars. He had a '56 and '57 chevy. I know he put some kind of mag wheels on the '57 because he said they were stolen while he attended diesel mechanics school in Nashville. I just ***umed the hubcaps were what might have been on the '57. He also had a '67 (I think) Corvette that I've seen pictures of with chrome slots. He was supposed to have bought that car new. As a side story, my Grandpa bought my dad the '56 and said it "ran like a sewing machine", this would have been around 1963/1964. Next thing you know, there's two four barrels, it's running rough, etc. My dad did all the mods in the garage of the neighbor across the alley. Kept all his trophy's in the neighbors garage too. Anyway, here's the hubcap, I've got all four, they're now garage decor:
Thanks for the info guys. Neither my dad or grandpa ever had a Corvair so who knows where they came from.
The hubcap is from a 62 or 63 Corvair. Check out the link below. I had a set on one of the Corvairs that I owned. They also had a true knock off wire wheel, star drive with a two wing knock off like the very early Corvette knockoffs. http://www.hubcaps.org/corvair.html
