Technical Hubcap problems

    need tips for a method or tool recommendation to remove dog dish type hubcaps from painted steel smoothy type wheels without scratching the wheel or damaging the cap.

  6. An old style metal can / bottle opener, a piece of cloth to prevent paint damage and a bit of patience. :)

    Instead of a rag, I use a thin piece of plastic (old credit card) between the wheel and hub cap.

    I use a hardwood wedge and a small tap hammer.

    I use a plastic squeegee that came with a screaming chicken decal kit for one of my T/A's. works nice and doesn't leave a mark. I start on one side and just slide it round the wheel until the cap pops off in my hand.
