Just wondering, have any of you ever built up a 308...???

This seems like an expensive process... I'm planning on getting one eventually... Just wondering what kind of shit's in store for me...

Also, what kind of manual transmissions fit 'em...???

And are they too long to fit comfortably in an "A"...???

    thanks...

Possibly too long but definitely too heavy. My 308 really strained my old cherry picker. The rebuild is definitely not cheap but check out Clifford down in SoCal for killer spped parts for it.

Also I just poosted three good Hudson manuals on Ebay. I'm not sure how I spaced putting the in the classifieds section here, but I did. If you're interested my seller name is kustomz on Ebay. There's a body manual, a shop manual and a swaps manual.

i might have to check out those manuals...

How much do those things weigh...??? Like, compared to bigger V-8's...???

I know they're pretty heavy, but i like 'em... Plus, i think that they have enough power to compensate for all that, anyways... Especially in such a light car...

  5. There was a guy who built up a 41 Hudson Coupe with a built 308. He hand fabbed a 4 barrel intake, and did a bunch of work. With that tank he was running in the 13's, pretty cool stuff. If this damn computer at work didn't crash every 6 seconds, I'd have the address to his site. I think you can find it under the clubs section in Hemmings, under Hudson.

Like Billet Pruf said, if you want to build one up ckeck Clifford Performance. He got his start many years ago doing speed parts for the Hudson 6,s.
I've got a real soft spot for them. They were NASCAR champs I believe for 5 years running 49-54.
You'll probably have a tough time getting one in an A without eighther making a drastic intrution on interior room or lengthening the wheelbase. I'd go the latter as the 'S ARE PRETTY SHORT AT 103 1/2 "
