Does anyone have a Hudson pickup? I think they were made '46-'48. I had a chance to buy one a few years ago, but waited too long and someone elde got it. I would like to find another. Any pics would be appreciated, thanks.
46-47 are more common but they were made as far back as 37? I recently saw a 41 for sale. Do a search there is a thread with more pics. Here are some pics of hudson that was for sale. A Hamber now owns it. (Marcy)
Here's some pics of my dad's '47 Hudson. It's been clipped ('69 Camaro), has a Trans Am rear end under it (posi-3.73's), a small block Chevy (moved back 14 1/2"), and 700R4. I've done all the paint work (pinstriping-wise) on it, and still have quite a bit more to do. It's almost done.....just not enough time to get it done before the Round Up. My dad is a fabricator and machinist, so all of the pieces are pretty much hand-made. I'll get some new pics of the engine with all the bracketry on it. -Aaron
I sold my 46 pickup last fall to a guy in so cali. The trucks were built from 1938 to 1947 it was a great truck, I found it in a barn, picked it up cheap and learned alot about welding while putting it back together. the thing to look for when buying a hudson pickup is a good box and rear fenders. The front sheetmetal is interchangable with hudson cars. it had the original 212 cubic inch flathead six with a 3-on-the-tree and 4.46:1 rear end. ran like a clock . Top speed: about 50mph $$$ got tight and it had to go down the road. The HET (hudson Es*** Terraplane) club is a great resource and you can usually find good deals on parts and vehicles through it here are some pics if you have any questions feel free to PM me
Yup, there were 2 or 3 different models of trucks from 38 to 42 standard, and big boy are the 2 that I recall, then in 46-47 the former "big Boy" truck became the standard truck. there almost no difference between 46 and 47 with the exception being different chrome on the front of the hood. here are a couple of pics of 38 and 39 hudson pickups
Hudson started in 1937 with their Commercial cars . the model 78 utility coupe p.u. other 37 model included a 3/4 ton station wagon, and a 3/4 ton p.u. express all on a 122 inch wheel base. 38 dropped down to the 112 wheelbase shown above,

I just finished my 46' and have been working the bugs out. They only came with a long bed. I turned mine into a short bed and shortened the wheel base 6", It does'nt look like such a farm truck any more. I'll take some shots in the morning and give more details on what I did to it over the past year and a half. Joe
