Here's mine. Not much to look at but the car is really solid. Someday after the hardtop, the delivery, the Merc.....
Crestliner;Bill Stamps (the guy we got it from) got it from his dad around '52-3,he drove it with the original 262 flat 6 until one of the ring locator pins worked its way out of the piston and hammered the hell outta the head.that's when he got the idea that an Olds engine would be an easy swap, seeing as how they both were equipped with hydra-matics.that took place circa 1955,the Olds rearend was installed shortly thereafter because the Hudson axles kept breaking.he had the rear wheels (and one for the spare) custom offset inwards so they'd clear the fender skirts.he was hanging on to it all these years with the idea of restoring it,but he just wants to finish his '55 F-100 now.
When i was in the navy A friend of mine had the same car( but with a 6), It was 1970 so we painted it psycadelic colors, screwed electric fan blades on the hubcaps & drove it around Charleston SC like that. One day we where cruising around smokin dope & looking for Bulls in the country to shoot in the ball with a BB gun( this was a passtime for some guy from Monkeys eyebrow, Ky) & the cops stopped us, they busted us for having 9 people in the car, made 3 people start walking back to town.!!lol Great cars always loved em. jimV
"Finally some Hudsons on the HAMB" whattamI chopped liver??? And, by the way, mine DOES RUN and drive too, just not all that well as the motor is kinda tired. Good to finally see some pics of that thing (thanks Dave) hey George how is that m/c doing? Guess I'll need to remotor mine with something that will teach that rocket a lesson for the "his does not run comment"!
