This car has a great look. I have toyed with the idea of the '54 one-piece windshield for mine, just finding one is the problem. Keep up the great work.
Quit fuckin' around Dave...I know it's raining up there too! Don't tell me you aren't out in the shop! How about some new Hudson porn??!
a buddy of mine had a 52 ...........man,,,,,good time it had a 1 shot lube- a- matic under the dash and a sander option... we used to swipe ..pizza dough flour bags from "Tony's Pizza" and fill the rear carpartments with flour ... and pull the sander lever... mes everyone up.... is was cool............. we wer assholes! but is was fun........
Hey Dave I saw your Hudson in a magazine called "World of Rods". It's a little picture from the CHRR. Pretty kool though to see a friends ride get some ink. Hell I almost bought the issue for ya.
This is a post from the DEAD. James you shoulda bought that issue for me! I really havent done much to the car. Work is getting in the way. And another top secret project I did make a grill for it last fall then took it to Bailons car show here in Auburn they dug the grill-I actually got the "best grill award" who knew such a thing existed? I just picked up the rear bumper today from having the chrome stripped I'm going to 1 piece it, move it back and french a lip on it like the grill. Not sure if I'm going to have enough time to get the back done for GNRS so I might leave it alone I dunno. Thanks for all the compliments on the car. Dave Hitch
Hey Dave, All you old guys are starting to look alike. I'll see if I can pick up the mag for ya. I got a call from Mr. Gambino today. Scared the shit out of me! I knew if he was calling me you had to send him and I couldn't remember if I owed you any money or not.
Kewl!!! Grab the Mag! And who you callin OLD!!! I did give Gambino your number hope that OK I will post some more updates on this when I get something done. Dave Hitch
The car looks great Dave, you've really created a beauty. Funny, I just picked up my bumper from having the chrome stripped and have 1 pieced it too. Just dropped it back off today. Are you going to Santa Maria this year? I'd love to catch up...
Kool Great minds think alike! How did the bumper turn out? The radius on the center to the ends on mine has some weird shape going on. i gotta make sure it doesnt have a kink in it when Im done. Hell yeah i will be at pasomaria I havent missed it once in 14 years my favorite show! The plan for the hudson is just to have all the body mods done, the back, taillights, new rocker panels, radius the door edges, weld the quarters on ect. You bringing your car down?? Ltr Dave Hitch
Such amazing work, the thing's got flow, I absolutely love it and the Australian guys.......words do not suffice.
WOW!!!! I bought a 49 Hudson in oct 09 but never ever thought one would look as cool as whats been shown here. I have no plans to kustom mine at all but WOW you truly have created a car that people will remember for ever i think. PS- Living in Aus i thought i would never see a kustom one out here and looky looky there's 2!
I think the bumper is gonna turn out just fine. I had to section the ends quite a bit, filled the holes, etc. I used a 51 center section, and am still working on a custom plate guard. The transition from the center section to the ends needed to be manipulated quite a bit with a power hammer to make it flow, but I'm having the chrome shop do that since I don't have the equipment for it. I'll send you some photos when it comes back. I'm hoping to have the car at pasomaria...it's 2 weeks after my wedding, and that's the date I'm shooting for to have the car in paint. We'll see. I'm excited to see your car in person again, and crawl all over the new work that's been done since I saw it in Sacramento last year. Keith
