First of all let me say that this project is not going to be a daily driver and barely a streetable car. That being said. My frame is nearing completion and it is time to think more about my engine set up. I have a 454 mk IV and I have a 12-71 mooneyham to help it breathe. The blower is going to be set up loose and under driven. Even still I know I am looking in the neighborhood of 500 hp(sucks I know). With the 12-71 I can not run a pully drive water pump nor will the distributer fit in its hole. Should i run a mag or a offset distributer? Where is a good place to get front drive mag stuff. Also I am looking into the diy fuel injection system megasquirt does any one here run it or know of it. Again this project is more of a wow thing than a street car. just some thing fun to build. Any other engine set up advice will be appriciated.
You might want to try racecarparts.com. They always have injections and stuff for BBC for sale. I've had him look for Early Olds stuff for me before.

if you'd be happy with only 500 hp, then just put a holley 4bbl inside the empty blower case....it doesn't take anything other than a cam swap to get that much hp out of a 454. Other than that.... how about a shorty crab style distributor under the blower? or maybe sandwich an intercooler in there to give more room, and make the blower stick up higher so it looks even more impressive? I built a megasquirt box a couple years ago, never did anything with it. EFI is kind of passe, if you know what I mean. fwiw, I've been running a 6-71 blown 454 for 15 years, works fine, put lotsa miles on it, very driveable.
