I wouldn't say I am new. However I am new to this board... I did a bit of posting before in other topics, please don't hound me for that.
Okay, I am 40-ish, from the European country called Holland. Europe tried to force us in the North Sea, but we pumped that dry, and called it Holland! Now we're getting those Europeans back by legalising weed and euthanasia, he he he!
Sorry to wander off, I am in the process of building a kustom. An '50 Plymouth two-door Sedan. I hope to one day put a early hemi in there. There is a complete engine in my garage but it suffered from being exposed to the great outdoors for a long time, it's got three ruptured cilinders. The rest seems pretty fair so I am looking for a 331 or 354 block... Since gas is very, read that good, VERY expensive over here I will go the LPG route with the Plymouth. Also, since the hemi will take some time I will try and start with putting a smallblock Chevy in it. Probably a 'new' one with TBI and an overdrive ******. TBI has worked for me, not too complicated... After I have finished the hemi I will get it to fit, with the help from an (trans)adapter kit! The car wil be lowered, suede black with white firewall and innards, the bench will get a leopardprint upholstery, I like trashy! Maybe, in a later stadium I go and chop the roof, but it's a fastback kind of thing so that requires some more thinking...
For work, I do graphic design, DTP. I work from home in my own business. I used to work for an Magazine on American cars, I only do the layout, graphics and DTP now and the occasional article. My house is three floors, my garage is between the living and working floor. The house is in the seaside town of Scheveningen, close to the beach, and there no law against ******* sunbathing! But only nine days of sun annually...
I live with my wife MJ, known her for 18 years, married for 10, we have no kids. I feel I am not 'adult' enough to raise kids.
What more I do like? Music, soul, jazz, funk and every thinkable combination of those three.
Oh maybe you wanna know about the cars I used to own? I started with a AMC Gremlin (sorry) over the years I updated it with smallblock Chevy, and later stroked it to 383 c.i. Raced that on the quarter, 13,5 s, could have done better if I didnot sell it... Then came the model A. Started out as a basket case, more rust then metal, it ended up as a roadster pickup. Had a Chevy 305 first then a 327. IFS front, Mustang 8" rear (posi), primer red and black. Later it became powderblue and white. Lotsa fun with that car. But it had to go, I needed to get my hands dirty, so there came the Plymouth. Originally build in CA where it spend most of the time in Oakland. In 1999 it was shipped to Holland, guess what? The floor was rusted out!
