Hi Guys, Heather from Ross Collins gang in OKC here, now I'm in Chicago
My girlfriends are "wrench wenches" too. We want to know, is Hunnert car gone forever? We were planning a trip to try and go
    Thanks Guys
    Have a great Day!

    It is.

Plan to go to Vintage Torque Fest in Iowa, or the Symco Shakedown in Wi. Both are great shows.

Too bad it is gone! I got to go 3 times. It was one of the best shows ever. However I am planning on making a run to the Iron Invasion hopefully. I love late fall car shows!

Check out the events calendar; lots of stuff to go to, and remember the "S**** Drive" in Belvidere, June 8th!

I'm glad I made one, the last one. My little guy in avatar was born 10/12 so first few years couldn't get free on that wk end understandably .

The Gear Jam is only 12.5 hours away, on May 10/11.
Vintage drags, traditional rod n custom show and a big swap meet.

Would love to see you and the rest of your wrench wenches!

Iron Invasion is really good, the next best gig since Hunnert. I wasn't disappointed.

None of these shows would be anything if it wasn't for the pileup. Nothing can replace it. It was sad to see it go

Don't forget about the Rust Revival, Hunnert Heads up, Melt Down Drags. And thanks for the kind words on Symco. We try really hard to put on a quality, unique event.

Yes, it's gone. You're over a year too late. :) 10 years was enough for us. If you do a search, you'll find a post explaining why we killed it. The Iron Invasion took over that weekend and improved on many of the things that made the Pileup so great.

As others have pointed out, there are several really good "traditional" hot rod shows in the Midwest, some of which were inspired by the Pileup. The Independent Syndicate is a good guide to when and where thsoe shows are happening http://www.independentsyndicate.com/ but don't forget all the great Midwest vintage race events, like the Meltdown Drags (Byron, IL), Hunnert Car Heads Up Drags (Union Grove, WI), White Knuckle Scramble (Norway, IL), Run Whatcha Brung Drags (Cordova, IL), and the VSCDA races (Elkhart Lake, WI)

I enjoyed the last couple of years of Hunnert, but wasn't around for the early days and old location which most people considered better.

However, I did make it to the Iron Invasion last year and I think it was a great location and what a hotrod show should be like. I've just booked my room for the Vintage Torque Fest and plan on being at the Iron Invasion again this year.

I'm going to the pileup this year too, didn't you get the memo? Ha ha.
Pileup isn't really gone. It will live on in memory for decades as we continue to talk about the good times and all the friends made......and scores at the lions club swap on Sunday. I've heard mention of it three times in the last month, legendary!
