Yes, it's time for another installment of "plug that show"! I just wanted to remind y'all that the 2nd Annual Hunnert Car Pileup is coming up - Saturday October 11th at Abomber30's shop in Sycamore, IL (just west of Chicago). If you missed it last year, you can see pics on our web site We had around 100 cars (all pre-64 rods & kustoms -rules STRICTLY enforced) from 5 states and several hundred spectators. This year is going to be even better! We have 5 bands playing and at least 4 of them have HAMBers in them. Back by popular demand, we have Plan 9 from Outer Space (Chicago psychobilly w/ Pyro52 on the HAMB) and Crown Hill Diggers (Indianapolis rockabilly w/ Irritant on the HAMB). New this year we have the Sin City Injectors (greasy punk from Milwaukee - I'm sure one of those guys is on the HAMB somewhere), the Hi-Qs (good old traditional rockabilly from Detroit), and finally MR. Max Wedge's drag surf band KNUCKEL DRAGER (they're the soundtrack to the Mad Fabricators' Society Trailer). and if the HAMB comeraderie, the bands, food and homemade caramel corn by Abomber's mom aren't enough, the T-shirt and sticker were designed by Django... it's never too early to register early!
HRLC, here's what we have Country Inn and Suites 815-895-8686 Holiday Inn Express 815-748-7400 Amerihost 815-895-4979 (they have a pool) Microtel 815-899-6500 (I think I stayed here last year) Abomber's better half is working on trying to get discount rates, but hasn't made much headway (they're not willing to budge ...yet). Magnet is updating the site, so hopefully we'll have links to the bands and travel info, like hotels, soon. BTW, if you didn't see my post, I saw Big Olds cruising west down I-80 near Peoria, IL a few weeks ago (i was going east). I freaked my friend out because i yelled "I know them!"
Thanks for the hotel info. No, I hadn't seen your post. That must have been on Sat Aug 9th, the first day of our adventure. We were heading WEST to B'ville. I've tried to catch up with all the posts I missed while gone, but I gave up, impossible task. See you next month at the show.
t-shirts available for PRE-ORDER???? please tell me you have GIRLY ones,,, and NO i don't mean MAGNET-SIZED,,, MISS hellbound hootch
savage pays attention to the details! I think I know why. yes, MISS Hootch, there will be girly-sized shirts this year... you'll have to wear one... with those shoes you wore to the Cheaters' Show... so we can take a pic of you rearranging Magnet's jewels. I'm so disappointed I missed that. I know where some more pics of you are from that show, but I don't want to meet the same fate, so I'm not telling.
I wanna meet the girl that modeled for you DJANGO. That is a cool rendering... I was comin' anyway, but if I wasn't... I would... just for the shirt... Know what I mean? I hated missing the Cheaters show, but the H.A.M.B. drags was a mighty powerful pull. Wouldn't miss the HUNNERT CAR PILEUP for nuthin'... One of the best times I ever had. BOBBLEED and you CHEATERS... Should we (the forces from the North) plan on meeting at the same place this year? I sure hope you guys aren't too busy making plans and preparations, that you can't make it to Fond du Lac Sept. 20-21 JOE
I dont know if we can meet up with someone who didnt even come to our show....Just kidding, keep us posted we will be there, any meeting place is good for us! stay gold
Hellfish, I don't see myself making the trip to the show, but I'd love one of those t-shirts. Please post if there will be some **L's available after the show. Pikesan
I'm sure I'll be there again, had too much fun the first time ,not to come back again.I'll probably be cruisin down with Junkyarddog and meet up with you Cheaters. Also I'll be at Cowboy Bob's Hoedown on the 20-21st of Sept. see you then. DAN
what??? Nobody wants to roll down there with me and my 35 chevy pickup? OK... I'll go by myself then.... Count me in........ It'll be done........LUKESTER
Luke****er you gonna trailer that pile? HaHa You don't really want to drive that thing, you just want to "welderbate" on it. You should just bring your welder to the show. BUT first strip all the paint off of it. I'm going, hopefully Bleedster will be done. I need to be on STRICT 12-14 hour days though on account of I need to get the 27 T done too as well customers **** and finish the new Bleed album. I think I'm ****ed. I need to get this **** done . EVEL is coming. Anyway, the spot we met last year will work for me.
BLEED- I don't think there's a single H.A.M.B. member who doesn't believe the '35 is gonna be there... in all of it's bare metal glory(tm). The LUKESTER has it in him... just needs to chain the doors shut on the new shop, and get some work done... Right? I'll scoop up you FOX VALLEY PUNKS and maybe we can bivouac in Fondy, and then the day of the PILE UP, we can reconnoiter. Any of you H.A.M.B.ers drive Noiters?
i will be getting the site revised ASAP... Hootch.. no nut kickin this time... i am still a little blue. and remember ... informational flyers are available... HERE!
i'm so bumbed i don't have a hot rod to drive this year, i miss my 50 oh well, we'll drive the wife's flamed out daily driver. last year was a blast and i'll be there this time fursure!!!
Cool, that way we can show people the difference beetween HOT Rods and STREET Rods. Modern Traditionalism? WTF does that mean? HaHa Fox Valley ***S. HaHa Actually, I can't wait for Luke to get that truck done I'm excited about it. He's gonna have top get one of those "Air Bubbles" to park it in though, I don't want to see him cry when it rains.
Bob, I am actually praying for rain and will be doing a rain dance the Wednesday before the pileup because that is the only way I will get to go. An inch of rain on Friday would just be outstanding. Maybe the spacetruck can make it on a trailer, somehow I doubt it, I keep running out of money. Maybe there can be a *** row. Of course the Cheaters will be at the HEAD of it.
shirts and stickers will be available after the show... IF they don't sell out. They did last year. don't feel bad kustombuilder, at the rate I'm going, I won't have a car to drive to my own damn show either!
The '36 MAY be roadworthy by then, but I have to leave at 1:00 to go to a wedding. A wedding that I can't get out of. My car may see more of the show than I am!
i think we might be swinging down to take it in, prolly not with the coupe , but there none the less 12pack
[ QUOTE ] but I have to leave at 1:00 to go to a wedding. A wedding that I can't get out of. [/ QUOTE ] The ONLY wedding a person can't get out of, is their OWN. Don't you feel the stomach flu coming on or something? No one wants someone who's going to puke, at their wedding
My wedding was OCT 12th last year, the day of the first pile UP, I still wanted to get out of it..... LUKESTER
