Having problems with my Hunt electronic dist. Installed the ballast resister as per Hunts instructions and it will not start. Weak spark. Jumped the resister and it ran and started great. Pull the jump wire while its running and it dies. This is a early 2 wire dist. Any ideas?
I'm not much with electrical/electronic stuff, but is it possible you already have a resister and you're adding another one in series?
The wiring diagram shows 2 red wires. Is the wire diameter obvious in size so you are sure you have the correct wire to the resistor? Did you check to see if the switched wire has 12 volts going into the resistor?
