Seems like somewhere I saw or read about folks using late model spare rims or spacesaver rims on their rods.

Anyone have any pics or sources?

Seems like they may have been 16"???

Mustangs have a solid aluminum rim for the space saver spares.

Latemodel Mustangs and T-Birds have a nice solid forged Aluminum wheel for their spare.
Kent Fuller modified some for use on his Streamliner for Bonneville.

All the ones I've seen have been 4 lug,but they my be available in 5 lug.
