Just did a deal for 2 Huppmobiles......a 29 and a 28.....one 2 door sedan and a 4 door......the 4 door will eventially make a truck...the 2 door a sedan delivery....thinking a V-12 or a straight 8 in one of them....any ideas? Mark
Don't let anyone in the Hupmobile club know your plans. When they find out you intend to cut them they won't want to talk to you and you can forget getting any parts. As far as I know though Hupp never made a delivery and only a handful of trucks were made by dealers from converted sedans.
ya, Hupmobiles are kind of rare. I got mine as just a body and frame, missing all of the wood stucture inside, no axles or anything. So I figure I can hot rod mine. But if I came across one that was fairly complete and rust free I would definatly try to restore it. But their your cars and you can do what you want.
They will make nice hot rods. Just realize that a post asking for disc brake kits for Hup spindles probably won't get many responses.
28-9 were the biggest sales years for Hupp. They were making money hand over fist. 34 Hupp is right, Don't let the Hupp club know your intentions, They'll freak! I also own a 34 W417 3 window coupe. (Same body tooling as Ford) I's a complete car & runs. I probabbly will let it go if someone offers enough for it. I'd post some pics, but every time I try, they don't take. email me If anyone would like to see it. Not a whole lot of Hupp Hot Rods around? I always thought that it would be cool to put Fords 33/4 Cabriolet or Roadster body on this ch***is, since it is all the same-Hupp never made a W417 roadster or cabriolet.
a guy i know has a 1930 hup for sale, that i can buy maybe i should its a 4 door though... maybe a pickup project?
