Didn't know the HAMB was now covering the weather.

What we are is about having concern for our HAMB families, maybe you might consider the same:confused:

There are a lot of H.A.M.B. Members and lurkers that were affected by this storm.I for one am thankful that the family took an interest in how we were doing. Snowman

  7. I didn't realize the HAMB had members that lacked compassion for their fellow members.

A lot of Hambers have been affected by this storm and most of us care about out friends. HRP

Having gone through a couple of bad hurricanes, I can say that during the aftermath there is a full gauntlet of emotions. Anger, frustration, sadness, helplessness and depression. In the midst of this, the greatest thing to know, is that there are people who care. Anyone who doesn't "get THAT", I wish them well and hope they never have to go through it. I also wish, they would STFU!

  10. You gotta read all the posts, I'm sure you didn't mean to be insensitive. I get when they don't want us talking about Super bees or Mustangs, and Fred get's pretty ornery just about all the time about people getting OT, but this is about people connecting on a human level, and having genuine concern for others. It's not just about weather, this is a lot different and there would be room for it on any forum. If you read from post #1, you'll get it.

  11. A real bad storm can bring water up to where it has never been before. Never underestimate the damage that water can do.

With Sandy in 2012, there were people who dismissed the possibility of a storm surge that would bring the tides 10' over normal. And by me this is salt water. One non-believer lost his mint '58 Corvette.

Below is a link to images of some of the cars that were lost and staged at the old Grumman facility out east of me in Calverton. All were sold for scrap.

  13. Well Hussey, others have commented on your post and there is not much I'm going to add to it other than to say that the HAMB is a family of like minded individuals who mostly care for each other. We have a common bond in that we are into rods and customs, but a lot of us have old fashioned values. Hopefully some day you will understand.
