Hi , I'm looking some help . I am looking for a guy on here(HAMB) that does a copy of the hurst engine mounts to fit a hemi engine into a 1950 mercury frame. Any help would be great .I have checked with Speedway speed shop but had no luck. Cheers Pete
you first need the Hurst 1949-1951 Ford / Mercury frame adapters, then the Ford type biscuits, then the Hurst type Chrysler engine mounts to do the job.
I sold these but maybe the photos will help. http://www.fordbarn.com/forum/showthread.php?t=10951 Maybe you could use these photos to make some. This will also help. http://www.ffcars.com/forums/43-off...advice-update-engine-mounts-my-hemi-swap.html Also, check Speedway, http://www.speedwaymotors.com/1949-1953-Ford-Mercury-Frame-Adapters,6669.html This will definitely help. http://www.killbillet.com/showthread.php?16989-Flathead-to-Hemi-conversion-motor-mounts
If the CR 202 fits the mounts in a '48 Ford or A 28 mounts in a deuce, seems like you could use it in a '49-51 Merc with the stock frame mounts with the spacers removed...?
Bruce your right you can use the CR 202 with the stock frame mounts. That's how my 331 hemi is mounted.
All very good. you never mentioned what type of hemi (brand)..U could use a Hurst Style front Saddle mount..although for a Dodge…. very easy to adapt to a Chrysler or Desoto….from Speedway as well…. http://www.speedwaymotors.com/1953-55-Dodge-Hemi-Engine-Mount,9127.html
Hahaha I had to look up what a Tatra v8 hemi was .Im looking a fitting a Chrysler 392 hemi into the mercury.
A few years back I made a bunch of the Hurst style mounts but haven't lately...I do recall someone on ebay doing them not long ago. .
