Was mentioned on another thread ( Hurst VW Bumpers ) and not sure how many folks knew of Hurst prior to the Shifters and other goodies. Hurst Campbell also Hurst Anco etc..once made Bumpers and Nerf bars,,heres an old catalog page from the 50's (will try and make a clearer version of it) defiantly traditional parts
They do...here's a link. http://www.speedwaymotors.com/Nerf-Bar-Kit,3401.html Very close to the same thing.
back in about 1970 when i was working on my 32 chevy 5 window coupe ,i bought a nerf bar from the Bug In on Cottman ave above ne philly ,thats still on the front of car , it was sold as a part for vw bug, its the same size as the hurst ones ,i have to look as i must have one for rear also.
Most excellent! I may have to order 3 kits this winter, I want to build some custom nerfs for the Essex.
Here's my '60 Kombi with the Hurst cow catcher in the Eastwood parking lot with a bus load of Wheels of Time hot rodders.
Holy vise-grip batman, that VW bus with the front guard was 2 blocks from my house Sunday morning! I usually see him driving it around with a small camper behind it.
I made one like the picture in the old hutst cat.for my 38 chev.years ago.it was a rear bumper and it turned out great.it also caught alot of eyes.I bought all the pipe and bends at a local electrical store and turns out to be the cheapest bumper i ever bought.
