1. Since they are recapped radials should they be paired with radial fronts or does it matter in this case. 2. And since they are recapped on 235/75/R15 cores and since almost all of those were white letter or white wall has anyone shaved the sidewall to make wide whites out of them. Thanks, Mike
No you don't need to run radials on the front. If I recall back when everyone was first starting to run radials they said if you only got 2 run 'em on the back. Last tech week there was a really good tech article on makeing your own whitewalls. do a search whitewall tech 2 weeks. hope this helps
My Hursts are on Goodyear Performance cores, Eagle GTs, they dont look like there is a whitewall under the black.
Tman yours are two of the few I guess. Some of the ones Ive seen were on Uniroyal Tiger Paws that were at one time raised white letter and some other kinda light truck tire. There's a tire shop on Commerce in Dallas that shaves side walls. I was just wondering if there was any reason you couldn't do it on these. So Tman, What tires are you running on the front?
Just call hurst directly and have em make them out of bias tires... That's what I did... They suck at the strip, but they look wayyyy cool.
I bought a pair for 34-3 window about 6 years ago and they sucked...when I got them mounted on the rims.one was so far out of line(warped).we couldn't balance it...one good..one crap....I cant remember who I called at hurst...but the guy WOULD NOT take back the tire and replace it..he claimed that he never had a problem ever and I was the first complaint..I told him that ya gotta start somewhere.it went down hill after that...So there I was and 700 miles away and in a different country.....Great service......THEY SUCK!!!!!!
Naw, dont rethink. All recap slicks are a little off. You just cant balance them traditionally with weights. After the kid mounting them had put about 20 onces on the rim I told him to take off the weights and I would "SPIN BALANCE" em Hehehehehe. Seriously, they ride fine. As for the fronts, I have a set of 16x5.10 tires (bias) to run in front
