Is there any difference between lifter bore sizes or anything other than catalog listings between a 65 413, and the 66 and later RB Mopar engines. Not many Hydraulic lifter choices out there, and I want to get the lifters while I can.

There is some kind of difference beginning in 1968.... they are different than 67 and prior but I am not sure where the difference is. None of the listing I found showed the diameter of them.

  3. I have an old TRW catalogue. It lists a different lifter for 67 and back in all the wedge engines. I have no idea what was different, just that they are different.

Google tells us it’s the pushrods. They went from 5/16” diameter to 3/8” so the cup in the lifter has a larger radius on the ‘68^ pushrods. Also the early p/r’s are .060 longer.

  5. The pushrod tip was a smaller diameter in the early pushrods .
    The old pushrods had a 1/4 inch tip,,,,,,the later were 5/16 .

Tommy, you're an early hemi guy, so you should remember the change happened back around 1958.

The later change is as described earlier, so there are three OHV Mopar lifters differentiated by the pushrod seat.

HyLift Johnson still makes all three here in the US, so no worries about finding them.

Thanks for the info. I would have bought the later ones. I bought a Summit 6401 cam to go with them. Been a while since I could spend on this car, and Im pretty stoked.
