Just purchased adaptor kit from early v8 garage (excellent quality) just wondering if you could weld the ring to the backing plates?

  2. Looks to me like the four spindle bolts will keep it all in place.Dont over heat the backing plate, and warp it,or you may find the plate rubbing the drum.

You don't need to weld it.

  4. You don't weld it. It is held in by the bolt heads. If you are still concerned contact the Early V8 Garage. That is an interesting piece, all of the ones I have seen before just looked like piston rings.
