I couldn’t made up my mind witch route I’m gone take with my 47 Olds coupe. Mild kustom taildragger, Bomb or maybe a Gasser… It’s a hard decision when I like all these styles. Guide me in the right way. What do you think?

  3. If the first pic is of the way it sits right now I kinda like it as is! Nice enjoyable driver. Taildragger would be nice if you really had to.....

I like it as it is- maybe lowered an in or two. I like visors on a car if you don't plan on a chop (which I would not), so that might look good. I'm not a fan of the stock taillights, maybe '50 Pontiac or?

I might get around to a photoshop if I have time.

  7. Right on , and the cars to big for a gasser! My 2cts..

VERY quick photoshops- lowered a few inches with a mocked-up visor. I would expect that a Fulton visor would have been the norm for this year, don't know if they were offered as options or not. Second is a photo of the rear of a '47 Olds- I 'shopped '50 Pontiac taillights on.

Looks pretty good just the way it sits but if you have to get to tinkering with it, take two inches out of the front spring and about four outta the back.

Here are a couple of pics of my 10 year old daughter's Oldsmobiles. One with the factory visor & one with it removed.

Thanks Robert. Yes some lowering, paint and a pair of skirts may do the trick.

You absolutely right about those stock big rectangular taillights, I don’t like them either and maybe 50 Poncho is a way to go.

I like the built in taillights on this 48 ragtop.

    Thanks all for your input.

X 2. Maybe a slight chop, filled quarter window. but will look neat stock with the above mentioned by Rikster. I think a deep maroon.

I hate the post that say do what you like- you are looking for input and the "your idea your car" theory does not help- but in this case you need to definately think a lot about it. If you make the wrong decision there ain't no coming back from it. My vote is for sled or taildragger whatever you like to call it. Low and slow. I wish I had such tough decisions in life. Good luck and keep the pics comin of its progress.

If it were mine, I'd paint it, drop the back and just a bit, and call it done.

    I second that opinion

why do you feel it HAS to be labeled? just clean it up and drive it.

  25. maroon color is sweet on that car. cut one and a half coils and put lowereing blocks on the back. skinnies on the front and fatties on the rear.

Thanks Malibob, I’m leaning towards taildragger stance and there aint that tough decision, actually it’s rather pleasant ;) but it,s interesting to hear others opinion. I will post progress pics.

There’s no need for lowering blocks on this one, it got coilsprings in rear too.
Thank you all for your input.

  27. Why dont do something like a 40's lowrider or a mild and cool tasteful custom of it? Like Lee Pratt did on his 41 sedanette!!

Get out your lawn chair look through all the pictures of cars you have taken while setting in the garage looking at your car. Be sure to have yourself a cold drink handy. It will come to you.
