I have lurked here long enough. I read here daily and love this stuff. Here is my story.... In 1960 or 1961 my great grandfather bought a 1947 ford pickup in California. He pulled back a 28 foot house trailer that he built. He passed away and it became my grandfathers truck. It was just used as a farm truck. Hauled wood and was used as a beater. It left the farm once to go to the lake 100 miles away. This was in the sixties and my folks have the picture.( i want it so bad)The kingpins were so bad I don't know how the hell they drove it. In 1976 my grandfather passed away and it became mine. I have waited and sat on it for all these years. I want to get it done while my dad is still alive. Hell, I hope to live long enough to get it done
Welcome aboard! Sounds like the truck is still in good shape so why are ya waiting around for it to do itself!?!? Heheheh... You can do it! Just takes some dedication and the willingness to learn new things. You sure have a REASON to want it done. I'd love to have my Grandfathers old 49 Ford sedan! You can get good help for any issues you might have with it around here. Build it simple and sensible to keep the family history intact and you'll be on the road in no time. best of luck!!!
