I am sure it looks quite a bit different in person,,,there is a lot of reflection in the camera either from lights, flash or pearl. Do you have another camera you could post pics with? I like it on your car...Your friend is very talented.
Although it`s not my cup of tea I am aware of the effort that this friend bestowed on your project. That is a lot of work as a "favor" job. I am impressed. Several processes implemented here and all are done well. I would have been happy with just "shiny". Now the rest of the car has to step up for this new direction.
"I don't care what the people say, rock and roll is here to stay" and so are panel paint jobs- especially with lace. Check out another thread "model A barn find"- another paneled sedan. 2 cool. Good friends are hard to find- this guy's a keeper for sure! Now detail that frame.....
chassis is a nice gloss black, as is the firewall. wheels on it now are '40 15" steelies up front and and old set of buick/ford hoop steelies out back. i agree i think i might have to have them dipped. cant wait to see what the visor and grille shell come out like. this is buddies home paint booth, not a shop. so if anyone wants the painters name, i would be more than happy to pass it along via pm.
Does he need something else to do now? I have a few " canvases" he can have a go at ! Love it! Cheers!
Most of the threads on here are from guys that are furious about a shitty ten grand paint job done for them, and then you show up with this amazing job a buddy did. The world aint fair I'm tellin ya!
That takes me back 45 years when so many of the cars at indoor car shows had lace panels. Here is a brief bit of history on lace painting http://justacarguy.blogspot.com/2010/01/von-dutch-invented-lace-painting-watson.html
