Priorities, man, priorities. Do you REALLY need a house? Spring is coming, and that car does have a roof...

I wish I hadn't already put my kids through college. I'd have that car but they'd be working at McDonald's

Very nice! Check out the gennie '34 roadster in the background too.

  5. What do you want to bet the auction is ended early by the seller?

That's one of those "whatever it takes" cars. If I had the $$, I'd own that car no matter what it cost. Someone else will own that car within the next two days.

I would give the reserve ....TODAY :D

But with my other 3W purchase, the build cost on it and a new shop going up ....I cannot spend the 75 or more it ( IMHO )will take to own it ....

Hmmm.... Four wheels, engine, roof what else do you need? You could use it as one of those MOTORHOMES they call them, couldn't you? Burger King will be your kitchen, nearest drive inn your livingroom. And as soon you don't like a place, just move on to next one. See you're sorted for a good life. :D

Maybe, but I was surprised at that beautiful old '32 roadster that was posted a week ago or so. It was only bid up to around $33K, it didn't meet reserve. I wouldn't have been surprised at all if it had gone for two or three times that amount. I think ebay is turning into more of a buyers market.

  23. Good observation Nimrod. I saw that car. Consider this as well though....

What if that roadster had full fenders and was basically an unmolested original 'cept for a dropped axle, T&R guts, & later flathead? What would it have brought?

There are many more neat, old, hot rods out there than there are true survivors. That Ebay roadster from last week, for instance, was built in the '70's if I'm not mistaken. I'm not taking shots at that car at all. It was a killer. It just isn't what I'd call a real deal survivor. I understand it's all subjective though.

Like it or not, the day of the 100K gennie Deuce 3wd is coming fast - even faster than the day of the 100K gennie Deuce roadster I believe. I saw a huge deal fall through last fall on a 3wd that was as complete but nowhere as nice as this Ebay 3wd. In two years the guy will be wishing he had just stepped up & bought it anyway - if he doesn't buy this one. :D

This one belongs to a fellow ( a FNG ) who is registered here.......but has not posted in a month......he had a rough time.....:)

I know he turned DOWN 75 grand for it..... and it has a SBC 350 .....

  25. Relatively speaking, that car at 75K would have been a bargain.

I was talking about the bone stock car that was in the SE Deuces corral on Saturday.

    Harrison..

The one just above ( with the SBC 350 ) was sitting next to the bone stock 32 3W....at the Shades Deuce Run. The owner of the above car offered 100 Grand for the stocker.....:)

He is friends with our friend Gene in Riceville.....and hangs out with him...

Sweet lookin car all gennie and all,but is it just me or does anyone else think 55K or more for a car ya have to go through to to bottom is a tad bit silly???
Ya I know where ya going to find a car like that...
Boy being a car guy ain't cheap any more...Just a semi-old guys rant..but it was way more fun back when we could root around in old junk yards with your buds and then head back to your garage and thrash..Now ya gots to spend through the nose to get your ride on the road...unless ya find gold in some old timers barn.
Still a sweet lookin car though
