I am looking for a vendor that sells these air cleaners. I run frog mouth air cleaners and this is an insert for them to keep debris out of my carbs. They last about a season snd I bought 4-5 pairs a few years ago but cannot remember where ….

Any help would be appreciated ….. thanks!

If you do not replace them soon enough the wiry black foamy stuff can get sucked in - aka, the two holes in the ac filter in the second pic …. ahem …..

Tom, the beige roadster is Carpy's and he Drives it! He does build some great cafe racer bikes and parts.

    I went the DIY route.
I used to go to the Hardware Store and buy a small piece window screen mesh sheet and cut 2 round pieces to size of the cleaner opening. In between the screen pieces I would put a thin layer of 000 steel wool for extra filtration.
About $6.00 total with extra material to work with for other projects.

image.jpg That almost looks like the filter material for my vent hood over my stove. You could go to a hardware store and buy a couple of them and cut them up to fit your housings

Well, the gentlemen who was making the the air filters I am looking for has passed and no one is making them at the moment. Awhile back I bought some stack ac’s used in drag racing hoping they would fit the frog’s mouth units but they are too small. So in just fooling around I removed the wire mesh and gauze in the old units just leaving the rubber rim. The too small ac units actually fit into the rubber ring of the old unit:

and squeezed it into the frog mouth …

It actually is quite a snug fit. What I am concerned about is that the cleanable filter is too restrictive. So, although I can drive it for now, I don’t believe it’s a permanent solution. So I am on the hunt fir a suitable replacement ….

I’m kinda digging the new filters! They should be able to flow as well as the others and the fact that they can be cleaned a reused is a huge bonus. Great job;)

Why do I think of hot dogs being cooked over a open fire in one of the square contraptions that the top and bottom clamped together?
    Now I need second supper.
