So I got my first ride! Been thinking about it since I was old enough to hand my dad a wrench. Long story short...10 years ago I decided to join the Army...my older brother however went the custom route and started building cars with my dad. So now I am here - I picked up a 1952 chevy 4 door from a guy in PA for 2,300 beans. I am going for the semi-tradition Rat Rod look but need some help in the idea area. What you see in the photo is as far as I have gotten (first photo was the lowering second is where I am at now)....I leave it to you all for some ideas...I have hit a wall.
I dont know what way to go with this thing...I cut the front springs (bad idea...going back to stock springs in the front...hoping it will look a little more traditional Rat like in the end)
Hey there, welcome from Idaho! If you’re ever in our neck of the woods stop by and say hello. Mark Lester
Welcome. Nice car. You could chop it, spray on some suede paint, but looks pretty good so far. That type of car has the traditional "bomb" look. so you might have to go pretty radical to get away from that. Just do what you like, its your car
Welcome! You might not want to use the R word around here though.Just a friendly warning.Be sure to bring the car to the jalopy showdown!
I have a 52 4 door also just like yours. Mine isnt quit as in good of shape though. I want to chop the roof about 4 inches and bagg it.
Welcome, looks like a nice ride at a good price. If it is pretty solid and a good driver, dont start with any large changes. Still a stock 6 ? Dress it up, play with some suspension tricks and enjoy it. Maybe find another body to slice & dice while this one gets you around.
