I need to make the air deflector that attaches to the radiator support panel. I only need one. I have its mirror on the other side. Anybody willing to get me started on this? I was thinking maybe building it in strips? Or should i try to hammer it out on a stump? Any assistance is appreciated! attached is a pic of what im needing... ps. it is more curved than it appears in the pic.
Hey, That's not too tough of a panel to build, although you'll probably have some time wrapped up in building that one! Given the numbers that '55-'6 Fords were built in, I'd look for a replacement on ebay or the HAMB.
Last time I was at All American they had several 55/56 sedans in the yard. Check out there web sight or give them a call. Not that I against hand building one but why? www.allamericanclassics.com These are good guys to deal with and will ship anywhere. The Wizzard
Are you taking about the long tube piece that goes above the wheel? Maybe we can a photo shop person to circle what you are taking about in the pic. The reason I ask is I have alot of 55/56 for frt end parts that are going to LA Roadster show this year for sale. Maybe we can get you fixed up ahead of time.
From this picture I can not tell which part you need made. Can you upload a better pic or mark this picture
It is the 90 degree big sheetmetal thing near the cowl, that the large air tube goes through. I like to make parts, but I think I would buy a good used one from the above posters.
Sorry guys, dont know how to circle it. Its the piece that attaches to the front of the fender, underneath. Its spot welded to the radiator support apron and helps tie the front end sheet metal together and push the air into the fresh air duct. I wouldnt be against buying one( i bought the dvr side) but havent had luck. Thanks guys john
Mine was dented from a fender bender. You could not see it with the fender on. The piece is spot welded on. I'd never attempt to try and build one without a 2 year course in metal fabrication. I have the pass side that you can have if you want to learn metal straightening. They are not that hard to find so don't spend stupid money on a nice straight one. it all one piece over to the radiator. You might be able to buy a rusty one and use the spot welded piece. They rust out down low where they bolt up to the bumper splash apron.
