Youre posing your question on a traditional rod and custom forum, so I have to ***ume there's a reason for that.

That body looks radically customized from the factory. So just drop it, add some '56 Lincoln hubcaps, and give it a Watson-esque paintjob! 20181214_222502.jpeg

Leave it alone. You bought it for what it is not for what it isn’t. If that makes any senseo_Oo_Oo_O

With all due respect, I suggest you keep your Merc as stock-appearing as possible. These cars have built in "swoopy", and yours being in the condition it appears to be in, is a high value vehicle as is. You might consider getting another 57 - a Montclair hardtop, and applying some custom touches to it.
If your Merc was in my garage, it would look just like it rolled out of the factory.
    Beautiful car, enjoy it.

  5. I had this model given to me, traded it for a 56 Buick hardtop as soon as possible, it was to work and back only.

Add vintage air, fresh tires (15" is ok), add red that matches the interior in the "cove" and live the stance alone! It's low enough... oh and drive the **** out of it!

    Just my humble opinion...

There was a beautiful one at Turkey trot Daytona this year . It had a late model Mustang dash and side panels. I don't have pics but it was NICE . Looked factory- much detail .Maybe somebody here has pics .
