I just purchased a 35 Ford sedan delivery. I was hoping someone would have some production numbers. I would really like to know how many were made. Who reproduces the wood parts? The rear of the body is rough, I would like some photos of a clean rear body section so I know what mine should look like. Any information specific to 1935 Ford sedan deliveries would be appreciated.
    thanks in advance!!!

OOOPS! Yeah 35 FORD sedan delivery. Sorry, got a little excited!

  7. when you say "rear end" do you mean the rear differential or the rear of the body?

Rod & Custom did a series of articles on rodding a `35 ford sedan delivery back in the 90's ( i believe). find those and there should be a lot of info and pictures

    Close enough? :)

    pic from carnut.com

I don't know if there was a Standard and Deluxe in 35, like there was in 36 sedan deliveries, but according to an old rod magazine on 36's, there were something like 200, 1936 Deluxes

friend of mine stumbled on to this ranch in Northern Montana. He is not a car guy in any way but knew I was. He decided to photo some stuff on the ranch and one of the photos was this sedan delivery. i took one look and went nuts. I have been working on this deal for about 6 weeks. I finally got the go ahead and went and picked her up this weekend. The guy says he remembers the car on the ranch since he was a kid. The says there is a chance that the car was an old liquor runner that broke down and was abandoned nearby. The ranch is on the old bootlegger trail down from Canada during prohibition. don't know for sure but I like the story. car had been sitting for about 50 years for sure. can't wait to get started this winter!!!

I believe you will find that the majority of that body from the cowl back is the same or very similar from 35-39 delivery. We have replaced most of what you will on a 37 we have here so what you have for damage is common. We replaced all the wood around the back door with steel and the owner had new side door posts made by a local cabinet shop. If yours are good enough for patterns you will most likely need to go that way as I don't know of anyone repopin the wood. PM me if you need any other specifics.

According to the V-8 Album by the EFV8CA the production numbers were:

1935 Sedan Delivery: 8308 (I believe all were standards)
    1936 Standard Sedan Delivery: 7592
    1936 DeLuxe Sedan Delivery: 209

Did you ever come up with good photos? I am in the same position with mine.

For numbers for '36 at least, this is what I have seen for numbers, from Weemark on another thread.

std panel delivery 112" - 8,036 std models produced, 3,616 deluxe models produced

  23. My uncle lived two hours away when I was growing up but would come to visit on occasion. Before I was old enough to remember it, he bought a '36 delivery out of my hometown. I barely remember it later sitting at my grandparents' house. Didn't know it came from my hometown until we were talking about it a few years ago.

Anyway, I really like that '35. I'd be real tempted to repair what was necessary on the body and drop the whole thing over an interstate eating chassis/running gear. Unfortunately, it looks as if we've lost Wild Trout. To bad, I'd like to watch this one go back together.

Thom Taylor and Pete Eastwood did one a few years ago and did the story for R&C. He made his into a 36. Keep it simple and have fun. Doug Carr can do the wood or use metal if you are a good fabricator. I have a thing for the deliveries and hope you put it back together.

You don't have to answer but I have to ask.... How much was it?

I don;t mean to insult. Just curious.

    Hey Guys,
I'm still here, just busy with other stuff. I haven't started on the delivery yet. I have decided to shelf it for a while and finish some other projects so I can do it right. I have so much going on right now I really don't have the time or space yet. I hope to have my 29 A pickup running by spring. Then the chopped 35 truck soon after. I should start the delivery after that. I will be sure to start a build thread when I begin.
motoandy asked how much I paid. I don't mind telling. I paid $2000.00 for it. I think it was the deal of a lifetime.
Here are a couple of photos of my projects

Wldtrout : That's a hang of a find/buy. The swoop of those delivery bodies is great looking. The '35 I always remember was Jim McFalls the interior guy from out your way. Also can't forget Orv Engle's green '37. As Neal Young said "hard to find" Neat truck!

  28. WT,

As we discussed in our PM's, you know I'm interested in the '35 should you decide to sell it. I am a serious buyer and would love to have it.

PM me is something changes with your plans to build it.

    Thanks, Jim

    Jim,
I will surely let you know if something changes. I am working on the purchase of a 41 deluxe delivery and a 36 delivery. I will contact you if the deal works out.
    later,
    Garey
