No more flatheads (not) I could not p*** on this one. Running original 85 flathead, clear ***le ( I am the 3rd owner ) , and the radio even works, but all it receives is big band stuff. first view on arrival 001.JPG first view on arrival 003.JPG first view on arrival 003.JPG

By the way, got both bumpers with peeling chrome, all the trim, new whiskers and such, window frames, and a back seat full of who knows what. Will inventory tomorrow. The car is approx. 90% original. Has hokey *** floorboards that will work, and some late model leather seats front and back.

Soooooo what does the HAMB Mob think of my purchase? $4000 delivered.

I like it....the body looks clean, and a running flathead added is nice start....there was a another 40' Ford 2 door sold near me for $6,000, in bad condition, with a 'stuck' engine and no dash. Anything 39'-40' Ford is getting harder to find complete....I personally think ya' found a nice project in my opinion--Ray

Mine used to have a red grille but I changed it to black. Might have to go back. Yours looks good. 01182016.jpg

I am torn on what to do with this. I was thinking of making something like Archie and Veronica would go for a soda in, but it has such great bones ?????????????? Should I sell it to a restorer, or just make it start, run, and stop and have fun. Maybe scotch brite, clr, and penetrol. Hope to start it up tomorrow. Was really easy to push into my garage. Steering seemed tight. No noises from bearings. The wheels are reportedly old buicks. Are these OK? I mean, are the stock wheels centered by the lugs, or the center hole?

The ODO says 99,8++. I really believe the engine had to be rebuilt once or twice. Geeked to start up the old girl!

    Good on you!
That was a great deal, IMO.
And the radio is already dialed in.

I would say the wheel are some sort of old mopar I don't think the buicks would fit.but as I have been before they might. man you stole that car. don't be afraid to hot rod it there are plenty restored ones around the nicer you start with the easier it is to do

You did good. I like the Standard better than the Deluxe model.
I also like Big Band music, some fond memories of High School days when they let out cl***es early so we could have a pep rally in the Gym and the band would be playing "In the Mood" while we all found our spot.

Dunno how to wash it. The PO Previous owner states it was in a barn for 30 yrs. He had it for two years, so I guess it's my first "barn find" kinda sorta. The PO claimed he put a fresh battery in it, filled the float bowl, and it started after a 30 yr. snooze. Fricken incredible! Had a perfect 40 coupe back in 1967 and have always thought it was Henrys masterpiece as far as asthetics go.
