The best thing about building a traditional hot rod is that you don't have to know what a cool part came from in order to use it. No idea what it's from but I like it.
Its a 1937 Cadillac lense, but unless the housing was two parts (that being the aft part with a curved half for the fender?) then what you have may have fit a hearse or ambulance?
This lite is really cool It has a lite on top for a tag. I would sure like to know what it fits because I'de like to find another one and have a pair.
I sure don't know but if I had to fathom a guess if not Nash then Husdon. It is a durned good looking light by the way.
the ones pictured in post 12 are on craiglist in Charles City, Va for $50.00. they were priced at $80.00 at one time and incorrectly called 41 dodge. The difference is the Dodge had a hole in the bottom. They both took the same lens though.
'41 Dodge decklid mounted brake and license plate light, not a tail light http://www.carnut.com/cgi-bin/05/image.pl?/show/05/spf/nat0092.jpg
Ding Ding Ding Your the winner. Thanks to all for there input. Now I know what to look for to get its match. If anybody has one let me know. I will be surfing the for sales here one the hamb.
no, that 41 dodge that is pictured from carnut has the hole where the handle is. the back peice is all one peice and extends down and has the hole in it.
ok, i went to the taillight king site and found these pictures 1948 Nash 1941 Dodge Notice the Dodge back bezel? is longer and has a hole in front for the handle. the Nash doesn't.
'48 Nash is here http://www.remarkablecars.com/main/nash/nash-00003-2.jpg The Dodge has ridges on lens, and the Nash has grooves. The OP has grooves. I was wrong. It's a '48 Nash license plate/brake light. fuzzface is definitely the winner!
